When you said 'Is it "school" when the kids learn how to play with their 21-month-old sister without making her cry?' it reminded me of the question we so often get from others:  "But what about socialization skills?  It sure seems to me that learning how to play gently with a sibling is a very important socialization skill, and not one they are apt to learn when being socialized by their peers.
